This is an exhibition, a competition (with prizes) and an opportunity to sell art.
Categories
As the artist, you choose the categories to enter each of your art works. Selectors will choose the artworks to be exhibited, then the prize winning paintings and sculptures. Their decisions will be final.
There are seven prize winning categories: Land, Water, People, Abstract, Art Unlimited, and Sculpture and Schools, with the following guidelines.
- Land: The depiction of natural surroundings.
- Water: Includes the water in any of its forms, e.g. steam, snow, rain.
- People: Includes portraits, crowd scenes, figures in motion or stationary.
- Abstract: Art not attempting to portray accurately a visual subject. Instead it uses lines, shapes, colours and/or composition. In this category we also include semi-abstract art which has an easily recognisable subject but the form is stylised.
- Art Unlimited: Our Open category, could include favourite pets, livestock etc.
- Sculpture: the art of making two or three dimensional works that can be representative or abstract. This category includes carved stone, wood, metal, fibre or plastic.
Prizes
The winner of each category will receive a sponsor’s prize of $300, except the Schools category which will have a prize of $250.
Additional prizes will be awarded to ‘Best in Exhibition’ and ‘People’s Choice Award’.
A further ‘Mystery’ prize from the sponsor J W Picture Framing & Art Gallery will be selected by them and their decision is final.
Highly Commended is now in place.
