Hello all

The end of the year is fast approaching and the committee is now underway preparing for the 2025 Art HB Exhibition.

The art calendar always seems to be busy with the recent Hawke’s Bay Art Trail being a major event at the start of November.

Over the holiday period we hope you will be working on your art pieces, whether

they be sculptures or paintings, in readiness for the April/May exhibition.

The committee welcomed two new members to the team at the AGM– Stephanie Drew and Mike Sheely – both talented sculptors. It’s great to have them on board and we hope they will enjoy working with the processes for the exhibition.

Sadly at our AGM we lost Margaret Price and Karen Pallesen from the team and we wished them all the best and thanked them for all they had contributed to the previous successes of the Exhibition.

In 2025, the Exhibition will run from 28 April – 10 May and we have once again secured the Community Arts Centre in Hastings for our event.

Securing sponsors for the exhibition is in hand and we hope to have some new supporters join us.

Once the registration form and information “sheet” pertaining to the Exhibition are loaded onto the website we encourage you to read these very carefully.

There will be some changes for entering in 2025 and we want to make sure that all artists familiarise themselves with these.

Some of the changes have been made to ensure we maintain a professional standard for the exhibition and lessen some of the unnecessary workload for the committee.

We will continue to draw your attention to the requirements of entry so it will be clear to everyone what the expectations are.

We will be inviting volunteers to assist along the way so keep an eye out for these roles. Volunteers certainly contribute much to the organising of the exhibition and we appreciate your help.

If you are not already a member of an art club or recognised group, we ask that you explore these opportunities as this is a requirement of entry. Special membership is only granted at the discretion of the committee.
